  1. Hello y’all!

    I am back with a food update! HEHE whenever I am freer at work, I’ll write up a blog post on Word and then draft it in Blogger and hope that I’ll be done with editing my pictures ASAP so I can have the post up and running :D We shall see how well that turns out. Oooh and because I am sort of free-ish, I have the time and patience to write up a post specifically about each of the place I’ve ate at since I got back.

     Buttttttt, so sorry la my dear readers.... I let procrastination get to me. I just can't believe how quick the days are going by and it has been going by without me touching my MacBook at all... Super busy with some house renovations with all the cleaning and when I do have time, I'll be lying there like a log. Sorry peeps! I apologize too much on this blog..... and always for not fulfilling my updates...

     I am almost a month late and it's last year's business but regardless, here goes!

    On Christmas eve, mum’s friend/colleague decided to treat us buffet dinner to celebrate Christmas together. And so, after finding out it was @ Vasco’s in Hilton, KL, of course I had to dress up abit more and also because I’ll have to leave straight after work, I wore my dinner outfit as my work outfit :D

     The food selection was amazingggg!!!!! So much to choose from and so much to eat! Well…. It was a buffet @ Hilton after all, how much lesser can you expect right?
    About all that I ate. So totally didn't eat the money's worth.... I couldn't stuff in anymoarrrr! =/

    Overall, the dinner was good!!!! Everything tasted good except the desserts are a bit of a hit and miss. But the rest of it were ALL GOOOOD! Priced at RM128++, it was expensive but I hardly ever come across such great selections except the buffet I went to @ Melba in Langham Melbourne that I paid $60+ for.

    I am never a buffet person because I don’t think I can eat my money’s worth. But it was a great dining experience!

    One of my favourite restaurant in town! 

     Mum told me to decide where to go for lunch as we were taking aunty popo out to have Christmas and I instantly thought of J&R! Initially mum suggested Levain but I was like mehh.... let's go to Jarrod & Rawlins instead! Plus it was just across the road from where aunty popo stays at. :))))) 

     Because it is sort of secluded ish and if you're not an expat in the area or stay anywhere in the area for that matter, you will likely not patronize the restaurant. But if you're a foodie like I am, you'll definitely somehow or rather know this place!

     I really wanted to try their Eggs Benedict but it is only a weekend thing... ): It is supposedly a very good plate of Eggs Benedict..
    Yorkshire Pudding! My first time having it and it totally blew my tastebuds! I LOVED IT!!! It is like an eggy deep fried bread. It was bland but addictive and yummers!

    The food we had! They were ALL GOOD! Like seriously ALL of it was goooooood!

     Another plus points is that the person that served us was so friendly and met all of our needs! I was so sad initially to find out that the deli in this J&R outlet has already closed. It was suppose to be the only outlet around that had the deli going.. But now it's gone! ):

     BUT, the guy who served us by the name of Thina who kindly told me that everything that was initially placed in the deli are still on the entree/starters menu! OMG LOOOOVE! I was literally with sparkling eyes when I found out I can still eat the food that I miss so much about J&R! Their deli food that is cooked upon request. Like, if you want whichever sausages, you choose it from the deli section and they'll cook it for you! Now it is easy peasy because it is all on the menu already :DDDD

     I ENJOYED my meal SO MUCH that day!!

     For Christmas day dinner, I was invited to Michelle's place for an open house :)

     To me it was more like for a get together with the old buddies.

    Stephanie!!! I've known her since I was five and became bestfriends since we were 12! <3

    Yao yun!!!!! I didn't take a picture with her that night so I shall insert my latest picture taken with her! Bestfriends since we were 12 as well! You guys have no idea how much I miss having her in Melbourne... Even so, everytime I am home pula I hardly meet up with her... -.-

    Michelle!! We only got close when we were 14.. And so happened, she was my direct next door neighbour! Later on..., despite her moving to Penang to continue high school, we have been keeping touch through the years and we still are! 

    SO blessed to have them in my life! We've been a group since we were 14 years old and that makes 9 years of friendship! I love them with all my heart <3 No doubt we hardly talk as much but we always have each other in mind! ♥︎♥︎

    And that concludes Christmas 13'! :D

    The next post will most probablyyyyy be about Sydney! It'll definitely go up but we shall see when it will HEHE

    p/s : I am still very amaze with my baby camera! It still makes me so happy that I decided to buy it because the pictures it takes captures the moments perfectly! Especially with food pictures, it does superbly well! And me being a big ass foodie, that is a major plus points! Anddddd I am always so proud whenever someone says they love the pictures my baby takes...!! Makes this momma here feel so proud! wheeeehehhe :D

    Wokays I gotta start catching up on my backlogs. No surprise there… I always am catching up with backlogs… HEHE :D

    Since I’ve been back to Malaysia I haven’t really blogged properly at all. When I say proper I mean fully loaded with pictures and in some way involves food. So…. Now I shall start the new year (it’s only been 11 days in… it is still counted as the new years!) with a foodie post!

    Judging from it’s title it obviously has to be my never ending love for Japanese cuisines. I am always out on a hunt for good and awesome Japanese meal. A good price range for me is anything under RM60 per person and everyone is full to the brim and happy. I rarely ever patronize a Jap place above that price tag because there are so many affordable and nice ones that you could even get for less than RM50.

    Whenever I am back home in Malaysia, I only ever crave for one kind of cuisine, Japanese food. Because the Japanese food scene here in mega huge and there are so many affordable but yet super damn delicious and good! In Melbourne, the restaurant kind of Japanese food is never cheap and affordable…  but I do have to admit, it may taste better because everything is just fresher.

    Anyways, I shall announce my new found love Japanese restaurant, The KOBE Japanese Restaurant! It was previously known as Machi Japanese Kitchen. It is still the same chef, just under a different name and some renovations.

    Mum is very familiar with the area nearby because we have a close aunty popo that just stays two doors away and so, one day they went to Machi which was what Kobe used to be called and they went for lunch. Then, the night itself when I have my routine calls with mum in Melbourne, she was raving about this place to me over the phone. We all share the same love for Japanese food. It kinda runs in the family and immediately I told mum, I HAVE to go when I am get home!

    The first time mum brought me there, the boyfie came along as well. I briefly mentioned the place in this post but there is a whole lot of pictures of the food I ate then. Until today, the boyfriend still keeps this place in mind being the place he had the most nicest/most "song" time eating Japanese food :)

    About three weeks ago, me, mum and aunty popo went back there for lunch. In the intention of wanting to check a new place out because we thought Machi San has moved to somewhere else and wanted to see if this new place was any better than the previous one.

    The moment we walked in, the décor felt the same. There was some minor changes but nothing big and then we proceeded on with flipping through the menu anddd it still looked identical to what it used to be.

    So in order to test if it was better, I ordered some similar items as I did the last time.

    While we were eating halfway, Machi San came out to greet us. And we were like, “We thought you’ve left!” But apparently he didn’t. It was just a name change…

    It's time to taste if the food is still as good..!

    And my unagi + sashimi + zaru soba set = unagi bento! So worth it for less than RM40!!

    In short, I super love this restaurant! The food quality is good and it is at a very very reasonable price! On a further plus side, the chef is super friendly. Everytime we're there, he'll always come out and talk to us. And even remembered I came with the boyfie the last time cause he was asking me how's my boyfriend. Not only that, he was also telling me about the specialty of Australian beef and even taught me how to cook steaks and how to tell how cook they are!

    I hardly ever meet any chef so friendly one lo!

    Revisit? YES YES YES! Waiting until the boyfie comes back!

    Happy New Year everybody!

    I happily enjoyed my New Year’s Day right until after 12am and then decided I’ll write my recap and resolution post today cause I crashed on the bed shortly after that knowing I have to drag myself out of bed today and go to work. I sure am not a early morning person.. I should but I am not HEHE :DD

    Altho New Year’s Day is a typically normal day/holiday, I hope you guys had a great one spent with people you love! I know I did! I counted down the Aussie time New Year’s with the boyfriend through Skype (the distance don’t matter babeh!) while we individually live streamed the Sydney fireworks on YouTube, had KFC feast with the family whilst counting down for the Malaysia one, woke up at 11 in the morning, went out for shopping with my two cousin sisters for the whole entire afternoon and lastly spent the whole night hosting a steamboat feast dinner with the entire family. When I say entire, I literally do mean the entire family members who are in KL. It was a good day!

    So…. 2013,

    You’ve been a pretty rough year… There were so many tears and sadness. Losing gong gong was the hardest thing we had to go through this year and the next was the heart episode my popo went through. Having an elderly in the family falling so ill was hard and losing a deeply close family member was harder. There is always going to be a void in our hearts each time we lose someone but nonetheless, days do still have to go by and we will always have them in our hearts. Andddd, I am so so so glad that my popo fought back so hard to have herself out of danger and she is now recovering well at home. Yes, the road to recovery will be slow and tough, but at least she is recovering better each day. Thank you for blessing her, God.

    There were still some downs throughout the year but they can be overcome. All I have to do is, be determined and discipline and strive for what I want to achieve in life for myself. This year, 2014, I shall strive to overcome all of that.

    The good part is short but it is the good that kept me going through the year. Is having a supportive and amazing and wonderful family which includes the boyfriend. They are my pillar of support! Big time! My family is always my greatest people in my life and each day I can’t feel thankful enough that I’ll always have them with me through thick and thin. And my boyfriend, has gradually grew into this person that I always depend on and lean on and has literally became my bestfriend. He is the one I talk to about everything and absolutely anything. Everyday is still as fun and we laugh so so much and always enjoys each others company eventho we or more like I annoy us too much HAHAH! Our relationship was such fun times throughout the whole of 2013 and I hope these fun times will just keep growing as years come! The third year mark is coming soon... Time sure do fly by! But they were good times!

     Started working life again... Internship life to be exact. And so far it has only been less than 2 weeks and it is so far so good! I love working here in DiGi! The environment is so free and easy and the people are friendly, helpful and nice! 

    I didn’t do any long distance trip this year but all the short trips we went to were fun! Whilst I was back in Malaysia for winter break, I went to Pangkor with the close high school friends and it was THE BEST! Anywhere we go together will always equals to fun! These bunch of people I’ve known through high school are the best friends I could ever get. Altho we don’t talk to each other as often until I do come back to Malaysia, we are still a bunch of close friends and I am always thankful to have known them! These bunch, are for life! :D

     After Pangkor, I made a trip down to Singapore with the girlfriends to visit a girlfriend! It was really nice spending time with Jo Ann and the girls and their respective other halves. I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed the trip so much! Plus Jo was a very very very nice host! Made me feel as tho I was just at home except that everything is times 2.5 in terms of currency difference HAHA! We girls should make it an annual thing to do trips like this lor!! Or at least two years once!! To me, these friendships are the ones that lasts a lifetime! I just love my friends! Each and every one of them has made a significant impact in my life :)

    Had a couple of short family trips whilst mum and pa came to Melbourne :) Went to Tasmania for the first time and road trip to Lakes Entrance for the second time! They were both short but it was relaxing and nice! I even drove for the first time in Australia and got home safely! That should be worth mentioning hahah!

    Lastly, I went to Sydney again for the third time in three years with the boyfriend and two other friends. I’ll try to make it a thing to go travel with the boyfriend once a year at least eventho it is to some place near! I was just looking through some Malaysia’s worth going to resorts and they look so pretty! I wanna go with the boyfieeee….! But I don’t think I’ll be catching him in Malaysia while I’ll be here too anytime this year apart from this coming Chinese New Year. Which during CNY equals to not going anywhere apart from going back to hometown cause it’ll be too busy. Plus he will only be back for two weeks….. Booooooo! ): but….. regardless, I still can’t wait to see him and spend time with him eventho its only two weeks!

    I think that should be a good enough summary. Every year, there aren’t that many exciting events and so, I should really think of something exciting to do! We shall see.. hahaha! :P

    Resolution, only one, hold my degree certificate in my hands before the year ends. And maybe to lose some weight ahahahah! Wishes, hope that this year will be better than the years before and may everybody be healthy and showered with love, joy, happiness and luck! THE most important thing, is for everyone to be happy and healthy!!
